Population Definition
To be included in the Penn State admissions portion of these reports, a student must:- Be a Pennsylvania resident.
- Have attended high school in Pennsylvania.
- Have graduated from high school in the spring before their admission or be 17 or 18 years old.
- Have a final Penn state admission type of Freshmen in the year stated. This does not include people who changed to Provisional in the admission cycle.
This population is the best match to the Pennsylvania high school graduate population that is reasonable to obtain from the current systems.
Data gathered by individual campuses about their service areas may differ slightly from what is presented here due to timing and inclusion parameters. The numbers may also differ from those produced on various reports by the Undergraduate Admissions Office due to differences in processing.
For the purposes of this report, the term admission or admitted is used to indicate students who have achieved a paid accept status, and not students to whom offers were made.
