THON, Penn State's Dance Marathon, is the largest student-run philanthropy in the nation. In February of 2006, THON donated over $4.21 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. THON started in 1973 and began its partnership with the Four Diamonds Fund in 1977. Since that time, students have raised over $41 million and have helped thousands of children and families fight pediatric cancer.
2007 Graduates at Penn State
In 2006-07, 18,568 students received Penn State degrees, including 2,264 associate, 13,216 baccalaureate, 2,104 masters, 685 doctorate, and 299 first professional degrees Since 1855, Penn State has graduated 629,373 students.
