In 2004-05, 18,702 students received Penn State degrees, including 2,209 associate, 13,376 baccalaureate, 2,157 masters, 606 doctorate, and 354 first professional degrees Since 1855, Penn State has graduated 601,961 students.
THON, Penn State's Dance Marathon, is the largest student-run philanthropy in the nation. In February of 2005, THON donated over $4.1 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. THON started in 1973 and began its partnership with the Four Diamonds in 1977. Sine that time, students have raised over $30 million and have helped thousands of children and families fight pediatric cancer.
